concerta vs medikinet

Today i visited my doctor. I told him that concerta doesn't work regularly, it works some days but some days not.
He prescribed me medikinet 40 mg instead of concerta 54 mg.
I couldn't get the medicine yet.
Is there anyone who tried both concerta and medikinet?

Re: concerta vs medikinet

It's the same, but Concerta is 22% instant release and 78% extended release. Medikinet is 50% instant release and 50% instant release after 4-5 hours. For me, medikinet 40mg was like 20mg IR and another 20mg IR after 4-5 hours. Concerta was more stable and with longest effect.

but I have to say that different people respond differently to the various methylphenidate formulations.

Also keep in mind that you will be in a different mood or different things will happen to you every day, so you may be thinking that the medication doesn't work or doesn't work on a regular basis. It's possible?

Re: concerta vs medikinet

Medikinet makes me drowsy, sleepy for about 3-4 hours. I can feel withdrawal after 6-7 hours (concerta 8-10 hours or more).
Concerta was also making me drowsy some days but not as much as medikinet.
Both of them help me to focus to some extend but not for motivation.
