ADHD Assessment Scotland - where?

Hi.

My GP agreed to write a referral for my adolescent son to have an ADHD assessment on the NHS. In parallel, I wanted to seek out private, ADHD specialists since we may go that route. I live in Edinburgh and cannot find very much online. Does anyone have any experience recommendations?
I know of a specialist in Kircaldy, Fife (non-private) but it's a different NHS region and not sure of an Edinburhg NHS referral would stretch that far...I left a message with secretary though.

Re: ADHD Assessment Scotland - where?

Why didn't the GP tell you where you can get this done?

I googled using "child adhd diagnosis + edinburgh" and found this.

ADHD Assessment Clinic / NHS / Lothian / on Pennywell Rd in Edinburgh

http://www.nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk/se...entLeaflet.pdf

By using that term in the search engine the page that comes up also includes some private practice phychiatrists in Edinburgh.

I can't link to them because it would violate the rules of the forum on advertising.
