Shopping ... the cashier or bagger asks a question just as I'm trying to input my
pin number and the number flies out of my head.

No, you are not!

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Just got in contact with my pill lady and asked if I could increase an antipsychotic I'm on. I've been in a highly elevated manic state for something like a month now.
I like my highs. I feel so damn good, things feel so smooth...I get things done! Big things!
But my sleep becomes a wreck. I start obsessing to a point where I neglect everything else in life, and I become impulsive.
And eventually...I start to feel very stretched out and extremely exhausted and that high starts to drop downwards...and damn...those drops suck.

So she's letting me double my dose and she wants me to let her know in a week how things are going.

I love my highs...but I think I'm at the tail end of this one.

Psychopathetic, I hope the med change will let you get set down more gently this time.

I was supposed to go in for a time-sensitive blood test today, but when I went to leave, my car wouldn't start. Hopefully I can do it at a lab closer to my house (which I can walk to), but I know they can't order the results "stat" there like they could if I did it at the hospital lab.

Nah, it's not scary (and they managed to find the vein on the first try, which they often don't...).

It was annoying, though.

I call the doctor's office to let them know I couldn't make it because my car wouldn't start, and asked if I could do it at the lab closer to home (which is also affiliated with the same health care system).

I don't see why not, they say.

The order is in the system now, they say.

So I walk to the nearby lab right away.

They check me in and send me back to the first room on the left. Phlebotomist comes in with 4 tubes and a long sheet of stickers (for what I thought was a 2-tube draw).

"That's [2 tests I need today], right?" I ask, hopefully.
"No, it's [tests you already had done months ago]."
"Oh. I already had those. It's supposed to be [2 tests I need today]."
"Well, that's not what's in the system. You're going to have to call them."

So I go back out into the waiting room, where my cellphone battery at least isn't totally dead, but there's no reception. So I go outside and call the doctor's office.

After a spin around the automated menu and a little while on hold, I explain the situation. After a few more minutes listening to muzak, person who answered the phone hands me off to a medical assistant.

They tell me the tests were in the system, but cancelled. They'll have to re-enter them and call the doctor (who's at a different office today) and get her to sign off on them, which will take 10-15 minutes.

So I go back and sit in the lab waiting room for about 20 minutes trying not to cry from frustration (combination of events of the day, hating phone calls, and medical situation generally) -- and failing. Fortunately I'm the only one in the waiting room at the time.

Then the front desk person decides to look up the tests again. From then on out, everything goes smoothly. I apologize for the confusion (which was not the lab people's fault).

But sheesh!

As I was walking home, I thought about the bad day I was having.

Then I thought about the families who were injured and/or lost their homes overnight in tornadoes, and realized that my day wasn't really all that bad in the grand scheme of things.

Yeah, someone else may have things worse, but that doesn't mean you can't
cry over the frustration and having to deal with it all over the phone.

We had to replace the old siding on our house, and the doors were in terrible
shape, so we got two new doors. We're so happy with our new doors. Yeah,
someone else bought a whole new house and they're happy too. But so are we.

Very painful migraine as we watch the weather and keep our fingers crossed
that we aren't one of those who get hit by a tornado. Tornado watch here.

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

Something weird happened today. Nothing important but it was just a bit sad. At security in the airport I was again "randomly" stopped for additional security checking. this happens to me about 30% of the time and it doesn't really bother me. Today though fuzzling was with me and after they swiped my hands to check for explosives they swiped fuzzling's hands. I mean you know she's two years old. Do they honestly think that anyone would strap explosives to a two year old child? I guess they didn't they at all and maybe we were really randomly selected but they still checked her very thoroughly

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

So I have adhd brain fog. Fibromyalgia brain fog. And migraine brain fog.

Said something nice to a post I thought was on the migraine facebook group
yesterday, photo of woman holding dog. Just thought cute dog. Today the
migraine is not as bad, I click on a reply to the post and think to myself, "Wow,
that sure looks like my sis-in-law." Look again, and it really does. Finally look
at the name of the poster and yep, it's my sis-in-law.

Today, I cook some sausage and stir together a corn pudding with sausage,
put it in the crock pot and plug it in, check to make sure it's on low, yep.
Go and check on it half an hour before we eat dinner and it didn't cook.
Something wrong with the outlet it was plugged into. Had to dash clear back
to my room to look on the internet to see how long to cook it in microwave.
Pour it into microwave and start cooking. Realize I forgot to add any cheese.
I really wanted to have some cheese in it. Guess the cheese will go on top.

Gotta use the loo, but they're working on it right now.

I can hold it, I think to myself, as I start dancing a jig.

Jeez Louise, I can't hold it much longer, I think to myself.

Came home from work and needed a little nap. Laid down and woke up 3.5 hrs. later.

Still trying to wake up now, so I can eat dinner. I’ll never get to bed tonight and have to be up at 5:15 am tomorrow.
