I found out about adhd on the blog/comments site of a talk show, where we ( a few regular posters) had created a little community. I have no idea what ever happened to those people, the show changed the website and the blog disappeared.

I suppose forum formats are outdated now and people supposedly want "faster" and less detailed support. I don't know if we can mention other sites but reddit has a nice sub thread for adhd.

I've pretty much stopped looking at facebook ( although there are like 5 people who are on there that i care much about, and that's the only contact i have with one of my cousins). it's all snapchat and twitter and instagram, i don't have accounts and actually i need to use them for freelance work. which sounds perfectly insane to me, but that's now a marketing tool...

I wish I could throw everything in a box and run back down to spend the rest of my grandma's life with her

Nowhere to stay down there though and I can't quit work to move back down there cause there's no work down there

"Less-detailed " term also works on social media approaches of masses

For example facebook is dead, most of my friends are using instagram

You can't write anything there, you can't share videos or any news

Instagram is very limited, depends on what you upload and what you share on storyline

Without details or lets say cutting "unnecessary" details,

cutting , cutting , ......

nothing left

I think detailed is better than primitive basic

or i am becoming old fashioned

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

I haven't been posting much, except to complain about the migraines.

Is it too much to ask that I don't get a really bad one while we're in Kansas City
helping my granddaughter move to a new apartment and catching up with my
in-laws?

It's been chronic daily pain for 3 months now, surely not too much to ask for
4 good days ... not even pain free, but not above a 5 on the scale of 1 to 10.

Oh no. This has been a really bad few months in terms of migraines hasn't it? Are they getting more frequent?

It must be horrible having to socialise let alone help someone move when you are in so much pain. I still remember the pain scale we looked at a while ago so a five is really bad.

I reckon the activity level here is close to 2003 / 2004 levels. Facebook and Instagram are shallow once a post has passed you never see it again. This is an information resource and probably why there are so many guests on all the time.

It's got to point now that ADHD is accepted widely and meds are available and research on ADHD has slowed. A new DSM has been and gone so there's not a lot of new material to share or discuss leaving this as a social network competing with other mediums. I'm old school so I like this format by but all websites and databases are changing even our work ones to become more user friendly as part of the de-skilling of society.

I called my doctor today, he said that "probably you will be able to use concerta safely without triggering a hypomanic/manic episode, but for now forget about ADHD symptoms we need to watch your process"

At least got some good news, but i am not sure that my ADHD meds will be affective as they were before
we will see

Yeah, it's been nearly 3 months of daily migraine pain. Thankfully few of those
days were over a 5 on the pain scale.

I'm a member of a chronic migraine group on facebook. People like me who
have lived with this for so long that to us a 5 on the pain scale feels like a mere
headache, take an Excedrin and do what needs to be done.

When it ramps up to a 7 or 8, where you can't focus on anything else than
the pain, you can't do anything but let the tears leak out of your eyes, the
days when you need some serious meds (opiates, narcotics), thankfully for
me those days are not so common.

And thankfully I don't usually have to deal with nausea. Occasionally I get
an abdominal migraine and my gut hurts and poop comes out one end and
vomit comes out the other. I've only had one of those in the last 2 months.
a
The migraine has stayed under a 5 yesterday and today, but I'm having a is
fibro flare that hurts like a mother. Ugh.

I hope everyone else had a good Christmas and wish all of you only good
things in the new year!

Re: The what's bothering you RIGHT NOW thread Part V

My fingers in both hands are now pretty much constantly numb/tingling. I'm pretty sure it's my diabetes...or possibly carpal tunnel.
It started out that it was just once in awhile. Then it moved into almost always...but only noticeable when I stopped and thought about it...now it's almost always and VERY noticeable.
It's not painful yet...except at night I wake up once in awhile with my arm pulsing with pain from it because I sleep on my shoulder.
But everything now causes it. Just sitting doing nothing causes my hands to start falling asleep. Typing here is making them fall asleep. Pushing a cart at the store a couple of hours ago, holding my phone to play a game on it, picking up a cup to drink...
Everything makes my hands fall asleep and tingle and go numb.

I'm not superr worried about it atm...it's like almost everything related to my health...I just don't seem to care that much.
I am worried for the future though. I don't know what this can lead to? Will it cause me to loose all feelings in my hands? Could I loose the ability to use my hands? That thought is horrible.

Ah well...just getting this out of my head.

Please go see your dr. about this psycho. And if you aren't eating well, exercising, or taking your diabetes meds, do it.

My grandfather went blind because of diabetes. I think people have had to amputate cause diabetes caused them not to be able feel a cut or something in their limbs and then the cut got infected and had to amputate. Penny Marshall just died from diabetes complications.

Sorry if I'm scaring you but I hope you will do something cause it sounds serious and I don't want you to go blind, lose your limbs, or die.

Psycho I get this a lot. It's fibro related for me. Chiropractic helped so today just numb hands rather than both arms.

It's called parasthesia I think sorry can't spell
