4.0

I got a 4.0 this semester. It was a really rough semester, and my diagnosis came halfway through. Shortly after I got private testing space/a notetaker/extra time, and shortly after that, medication. The medication was rocky at first, inconsistent, but smoothed out over time and allowed me to finish the semester strong.

Mid-semester grades:
CMSC250 Discrete Structures - S (passing, no specific grade)
CMSC212 Low-Level Programming Concepts - S
MATH456 Cryptology - B
MATH246 Differential Equations - C

Final grades:
CMSC250 - A+
CMSC212 - A
MATH456 - A
MATH246 - A

CMSC212 was a notoriously difficult class despite the deceiving name (low-level means "close to machine language," not "easy.") I got a 59 on the first exam, after which I sat on my bed, ate a bag of cookies, and cried. Before I even got my grade. Seriously.

I don't want to brag but I can't believe how much I turned this semester around. I'm so glad I finally sucked it up and seeked help. Consider this a success story. Motivation to do the same, I guess.

Re: 4.0

Thanks for sharing, I really get excited when I hear stuff like this. Im about to transfer to a real university in the fall (from community college) and im trying to get through getting my diagnosis to start meds. Hopefully will get them before school starts. Im terrified of a university because of my ADD. I hoping the meds help me. Hearing things like this gives me some hope.
