Re: Depression!!!

I was depressed when I divorced
Music saved me. I am not kidding
I learned to play the guitar, and in the minutes of classes I could escape from bad thoughts ... without pills
I had taken guitar lessons several times, but then decided to study on my own and bought special courses.
Try it ...

Re: Depression!!!

It really messes with your mind! A true depression is like you're almost helpless, like you're in a dark dungeon somewhere underground. You know you have to get out of that place, but every time you try to climb out, you can't quite make it. Takes time, therapy, meds, more time.

Re: Depression!!!

Does depression counteract the effects of stimulant medication?

My medication hasn't worked for an awfully long time now but I'm wondering if it's primarily due to low mood/possible depression as opposed to tolerance to the drug.

As we know, everyone's different...or at least many are.

In my case stimulants greatly alleviated my depression, to the point my pdoc figured I probably had ADHD! What a concept!

Dexedrine helps with my depression and mood as well. That's partially a direct effect, and partially me not feeling down about the disability that presents as part of my ADHD...I actually have a fighting chance!

That said, I still need bupropion or the whole thing crumbles from lack of a foundation.

Cheers,
Ian

I don't believe it can unless you are experiencing depression from something else.
