Dosage increase

Since being diagnosed with predominant inattentive ADHD last month, I have been taking 5 mg of ritalin on
3 occasions each day. However, after speaking to a psychiatrist yesterday at my four week review, I am now to take 3x 10 mg a day for two weeks and 3 X 15 mg for the two weeks afterwards.

On 5 mg I initially had minor headaches, a dry mouth and increased fatigue later in the day. But most of these side effects have now subsided. The benefits have been minimal thus far with only a slight increase in focus being apparent on some days.

Am I likely to reap more benefits from a higher dosage?

I don't know what's seen as a standard daily dose of ritalin, but 15 mgs certainly wasn't very effective.

Re: Dosage increase

Everyone's different, but that dosage is lower than average.

Is 45mg a day lower than average, too?

Re: Dosage increase

I dont think 45 is low. I believe the daily recommended max of ritalin is 60mg.
