Do antidepressants blunt stims?

I am on brintellix 10mg and have been for a month. Just wondering if this and SSRI medication can blunt stimulants

Re: Do antidepressants blunt stims?

Ok its just a read on here a few years back antidepressants can blunt stims. Think the increase to 10mg of brintellix may be interacting with the stimulant. So i am going to go back to 5mg to see if that is the case

Re: Do antidepressants blunt stims?

They definitely do to some extent; Serotonin mediates the effects of Dopamine. A balance of the two neurotransmitters is ideal, but obtaining that balance can prove to be very tricky and time-consuming. Best of luck.
