Adderall XR plus...?

What else do you take with Adderall XR?

I am looking to use Adderall XR + a beta blocker (even though usually contraindicated with stimulants) + Memantine.

I have ADD and OCD.

Re: Adderall XR plus...?

When my son was on medication he was prescribed clonidine for sleep and tics. i'm not sure if thats a beta blocker or if its a statin but it helped.

FYI. Clonidine is an alpha agonist and it works by slowing your heart rate and dilating blood vessels. The dilating blood vessels is good seeing Adderall causes vasoconstriction(narrowing of bld vessels)

This is not how clonidine (Catapres) works. It is indeed an alpha adrenergic agonist (with selectivity). But it works by fooling the part of your brain that monitors catecholamines into "believing" they are higher than they are, reducing the amount of circulating nor/epinephrine. The result of this is a slower heart rate and decreased blood pressure; however, it also illustrates the dangers of abruptly discontinuing the medication - doing so will cause rebound hypertension that is in fact even worse than what it was when treatment began.
