Concerta Toxity

My son has been taking Concerta for about 5 years. He just turned 12 and had it increased. He has become increasingly agitated and aggressive since the increase.

Re: Concerta Toxity

What prompted the increased dose in the first place? Have you talked to your son's doctor about the changes you've seen since the increase?

There could be several things going on -- the most obvious of which is that the new dose may be too high. Pre-teen and teen years are also a time when problems like depression and anxiety can emerge, school demands become greater, social life changes, school and activity schedules can affect sleep, etc.

If lowering the dose doesn't help right away, or there are other problems that remain, then it would be a good idea to work with the doctor to assess and rule out/in both medical and environmental factors that could be contributing.

Best wishes!

I'd agree with this.
The other point is that Concerta gets out of your system pretty fast-- so you shold know within a couple of days.
