"Boring Tasks"

Over at my blog on my AD/HD Treatment Experience, http://adhdte.blogspot.com/ I'm starting to see a consistent theme among us ADD'ers, and especially Concerta users. We all have a very hard time starting "Boring Tasks" that are necessary in our jobs or day-to-day lives. I would like to hear if there is a wider group where this is one of your biggest challenges. Maybe it's just human nature, but I know that some people are just good at scheduling, and a task is a task and they all get done. Seems like a pipe dream to me, but then again, I'm supposed to be doing some of those right now, and I'm typing on this forum... Oops... I welcome comments.

Re: "Boring Tasks"

I definitely identify with this problem; a solution has evaded me for at least 25-30 years.

(Chris already knows this from comments I left at his blog... for anyone else that's interested, check it out. I'm finding it a useful and interesting complement to these forums.)

Re: "Boring Tasks"

This is my main problem. I procrastinate like theres no tomorrow. It's extremely hard to start anything that doesn't spark my interest immediately.

My experience with medication thus far has helped me greatly in this area.

Hmmmm... I have to think about this.... if I were procrastinating "like there's no tomorrow", would that mean I'm finally going to give in and get something done because I've literally run out of time? Or does that mean that I would say, "Well, there's no tomorrow. No need to finish this task. Let's #uck! (sorry, but if I new tomorrow the world were ending, I'm sure that would be my only reasonable course of action)" You really got me pondering this one....
