I am close to giving up as traditional treatments for depression and anxiety never went anywhere. My parents, teachers, and doctors all missed the adhd diagnosis in childhood and adulthood, delaying treatment for decades. My question is, am I too late? Can I make a turnaround in life? I have to learn new behaviors and social skills while my peers learned these things years ago. Is it possible to recover and life a happy and normal life? I have battled on my own for years, so I know I am strong.... [Read More]

Eric Eriksons 5th stage, Hello world.
Sep 03, 2020 - 7:53 PM - by Drogheda98
well, heh, Hello ADHD boards.

I figured out the prereflection>reflection, My name, err Initials is JIM, and I'm his reflection. the thought that has been in my mind was "which register does my name actually go into the ego or the Me" the prereflection, and it is not easy explaining this in first person, the "me" is the prereflection. which is reflected by ego, Sigmund Freud had a name for the machine I can't remember off the top of my mind.

WAIS IV Visual Puzzles
Aug 29, 2020 - 1:27 PM - by wanderandwonder
Hi, has anyone ever done the WAIS IV before?
I didn't get a full scale IQ because there were significant differences between the index scores. My highest subtest score was Vocabulary (18), and my lowest subtest score was Visual Puzzles (7). What learning disability does a low score in Visual Puzzles indicate?

Dealing with Destruction
Aug 26, 2020 - 10:17 AM - by JLOinNC
I read bits and pieces here and there that destruction is normal with ADHD. I've even read some threads else where that there are adults who never grew out of it. That scares me. I just don't know how to help my son and I haven't been able to find anyone who can help me help my son. I don't know if I'm trying to make it stop (maybe I'm hopeful??), or just tone it down? Here is some of what we go through:
- peeing on carpet in his gaming room
- pulling out threads of the... [Read More]
