So I've volunteered to speak on a panel in front of the freshmen at my school to get a discussion going about diversity. My topic is LD's, so I'll be sharing my experiences and my journey with ADHD. Do you guys have any tips for me? What are the important points I should be getting across? Shortly after being diagnosed with ADHD I visited my (incompetent fool of a) doctor. He asked me some questions about personal data for a form, and one of those questions was:
Do you have any children?
No, I said, I don't. We would like to have our lives a bit more in order before we have any children.
Good, was his reply; People with ADHD are not fit to have children.

Is ADHD really a problem of inhibition? |

One of Dr. Russel Barkley's main points seems to be that ADHD is an inhibition-problem. Is this really how ADHD works? It seems that the core problem in ADHD is not that one is forced off the track by distractions. But instead that the track is hardly visible.
If one doesn't feel the track, any other track feels equally meaningful.
